The best gold loan software in India, compared honestly

By the GoldKhata team · Updated 25 July 2026 · 8 min read

Full disclosure before anything else: GoldKhata is our product, and it appears in this list. We would rather tell you that in the first sentence than pretend to be a neutral review site. What we promise instead is accuracy — no invented prices, no straw men, and a checked-on date wherever we describe a competitor.

The segment this list serves: small licensed firms — one to three counters, a few hundred to a few thousand running loans — not NBFC core-banking.

“Ask vendor” is not a criticism — it is simply what their public pages showed when we checked (July 2026). Always confirm current pricing directly; vendors change plans.

GoldKhata — built inside a running firm (ours)

Cloud girvi software built by a 20-year licensed pawnbroker in Karnataka and used daily at his own counter. Register-method interest (monthly rounding, yearly renewal), printed pledge cards and bilingual notices, statutory registers, WhatsApp receipts and Friday rate broadcasts from the firm’s own number, Excel import/export, nightly off-site backups. From ₹499/month with a live demo requiring no signup and a 30-day free trial. Best for: Karnataka / South India firms that want the register copied exactly and WhatsApp doing the follow-up work.

Online Munim — the established generalist

A long-standing Maharashtra-based vendor (omunim.com) whose product family covers gold loan / pawnbroking alongside other business software, with an established installed base. Pricing is quote-based on their site (checked July 2026). Best for: firms that want a larger, older vendor and are comfortable requesting a quote and demo.

SthirApp — the closest price twin

A cloud gold-loan/pawn product whose listed pricing (~₹500/month when we checked, July 2026) sits right next to our Starter plan — the most directly comparable offer in the segment. Evaluate both against your own register: the differentiator at this price is whose interest conventions, documents and language support match your counter. Best for: price-first buyers comparing cloud options.

FinAcc — the Karnataka incumbent

A Karnataka vendor (finaccsaas.in) with visible presence in local gold-loan software searches and an established regional customer base; pricing on request (checked July 2026). Best for: firms that want a local vendor with a track record and are happy to engage sales for a quote.

Jewellery ERPs and desktop pawn packages

Several jewellery-shop ERPs and older desktop packages offer a loan/girvi module — reasonable when the loan book is a sideline to a jewellery showroom, and the licence is one-time rather than subscription. The trade-offs are real: tied to one shop computer, backups are your problem, and WhatsApp/mobile features are rare. Best for: showrooms where jewellery retail is the main business.

How to choose — a practitioner's checklist

  1. Does it reproduce your register method? Ask the vendor to compute one of your real closed loans. If the rupee figure differs from your register, stop there.
  2. Can you leave? Demand one-tap full Excel export. Your loan book is your business; never let it become the vendor’s hostage.
  3. Statutory registers and documents — ledger, pledge register, delivery register, bilingual notices, licence number on everything.
  4. WhatsApp from your own number — receipts and reminders customers actually read, sent as your firm, not a third party.
  5. Try before paying. A vendor confident in the product shows it working — open our demo, and ask every other vendor for the same.

Frequently asked questions

What does gold loan software cost in India in 2026?

Cloud subscriptions in the small-firm segment start around ₹499–₹1,000 per month (GoldKhata starts at ₹499/mo; SthirApp listed ~₹500/mo when checked in July 2026), while several established vendors quote per-firm. Desktop packages sell one-time licences instead, with AMC for support.

Is free gold loan software worth using?

Generic free khata apps track balances but not pledges — no ornament records, register-method interest, pledge cards, statutory registers or auction notices. For a licensed firm the compliance gap costs more than a subscription.

Cloud or desktop for a pawnbroking firm?

Cloud wins on backup, multi-device access and WhatsApp integration; desktop wins on one-time cost and offline habit. Ask the desktop vendor two questions: what happens when this computer dies, and can my accountant see the books from home?
